Before I go on with this one shot I want to first say that this story is not cannon, it is an adaptation I wanted to write based on Lemniscates stories within the Raspberry Saga that can be found on his/her profile, and I do urge people to go read the story.

I write this story as a token of respect from one writer to another
If any of my readers read this one shot story of mine, I ask you to also go and read Lemniscates Stories within the Raspberry saga or any of the other really good stories he/she has to offer. I personally feel that it is nearly a crime for such a very good story series such as his/her Raspberry saga to go so unread and it is my hopes that this one shot will lead to it being enjoyed by more people.

The Story that will follow this message will involve two of his/her main characters Lyza and her older brother Kval,
Please enjoy

A Shadow perched on the edge of existence, a warrior who is fighting a fight that would never truly end, it was A fox who stood in the cold confines of a city, his stark white hooded cloak flapping about as the colds winds started to pick up. His mission was not one he enjoyed, nor did he want to do, but it had to be done none the less. He had been tasked with observing a young teen, who had fallen into drug abuse and was now casting a shadow so large that the powers that be feared that he would cause his very worlds destruction by luring the shadows to his world. Alas it was as the fox feared as he stood outside the home of the teen in question watching the events unfolding within, and they were none to pretty. Watching the parents leave to go somewhere that he did not care to know, he watched and witnessed something that made him truly sick.

No sooner had the door the parents had left through fully closed did the young teen, storm through the home to get into his stash, however things were not as they seemed. The young rabbit teen flew into a rage as he discovered that his stash had been stolen, and from the look the fox saw on his face, the boy had a good idea who took it. Leaving his room and slamming the door behind him with a force that nearly took it from its hinges led the rabbit to storm through the halls to his little sisters room, the younger rabbit who was already terrified before he even crossed the threshold. The teen ranted and raved, he shouted and cussed, and called her names so foul that the fox actually began to growl; as a big brother himself he could not fathom what kind of loathsome monster would torment his kid sister in such a way. Finally the younger rabbits will broke and after her brother let her go, she scurried under her bed obviously the place she hid her brothers drugs. After not but a few seconds did the teen start kicking the girls bed, calling her more foul names till she popped her head out from under the bed with the baggy in hand.

After surrendering the bag to her brother did the girl leave, she once again scurried away, to the kitchen this where she grabbed up a phone. The older teen however was still in the girls room, the fox watching the boy with a cold unforgiving stare as the rabbit verbally attacked a stuffed bear, one of the young girls treasured possessions, then looking back to what the girl in question was doing the fox had a horrified look as he saw what the girl had in mind. She was getting ready to douse the flames with gas as he watched her slowly with trembling fingers punch in the numbers nine, one, one. Once she had finished she stormed back into her room threatening to turn her brother into the police. He didnt take to kindly to that and after threatening her and calling her more foul names did he finally grab up her treasured bear and placing his lighter under its foot, threatened to burn it if she didnt drop the phone.

He didnt wait for a response, he lit his lighter and after a few moments the bears foot caught aflame, and after a moment with the girls frantic and worried cries did she finally drop the phone, then begged him to put out the fire, which he did by stomping on the bear with his foot. The fox watching on feeling as each blow was almost like a gunshot to the young girl, the teen might has well been stomping on his sister heart. Once the fire was out the girl did slowly pick up her bear cradling it like the stuffed toy could truly feel pain and was in agony, but what happened next was what truly made the fox ill, he watched as the boy got down to one knee and genially grabbed his sisters left hand, then said the words the made the foxs stomach turn,

"By the way, don't ever touch my stuff again."

The fox instantly tried to intervene, all the while knowing that it was forbidden, and instantly shackles bound themselves to his wrist locking him in place, for all of his power the god could only watch and claw at his flesh trying to free himself to save the young girl, as her brother shoved her against her bed, resting knee heavily on her forearm to keep her from moving. The fox could only helplessly struggle against the chains that bound him, as the girls frantic and horrified cries for mercy were all but completely ignored by her brother as the teen in question wrenched each individual finger on her left hand back till audible snaps could be heard the snaps only drowned out in his ears by the girls frantic wails of pain and agony.

The fox watched on as a short while later till an ambulance arrived, and her brother was acting like he was also a victim in the case, and as he watched the sickening display, as he lied and forced his sister to lie about what actually happened.

The fox continued to watch the events of the teen and his sister as his drug abuse led to both physical and mental abuse on his sister, the girl frantically having the explain away strange burses or cuts whenever her brother lashed out at her, with her being the only thing within his reach.

Finally after being forced to watch the sickening displays from the older rabbit did the fox finally have enough, he was going to end it, it was going to end that night. He watched as the boy and his best friend went to meet a dealer, the fox knew well enough what the dealer had in mind, and the fox was going to use it as an excuse, not only to end the boy, but to erase his very soul, such a foul being could not be allowed to continue existing as far as the fox was concerned; and finally the moment came, the deal was about to be wrapped up, then the dealer pulled a gun and fired not one, but twice, however just before the second shot was about to find its mark did time slow to a crawl, a thick grayscale replacing all the color from the world. The fox approached the horrified rabbit teen, his fate just inches from running through his heart, he looked the boy in the eyes with all the hatred and scorn he could muster; if looks could kill, then the fox would have bore a hole straight through his skull. Lifting up his right hand, the limb in question quickly being reduced to not but bone clad in murky shadows. The fox grabbed the bullet that was meant to end the rabbit teen and tossed it away, and instead, lifted his now dagger like bone fingers and said in a voice sounding more demonic by the second,

I judge you, and I find you unworthy, you are hence forth damned!

He lunged his blade like finger bones forward, intending to skewer the rabbit, however the flash of crimson he saw, was not the one he though hed see. Looking down did he see, his own sister, who had a look of fear in her eyes as she struggled against her brothers superior might trying with everything she had to keep the toxic bones from so much as scratching the boy. He looked down to the vixen in question, who was dead set on saving the boy saying aloud,

Let me go Sara! His Fate Is Sealed!

The girl then said something that made he recoil, stopped right in his tracks,

Then you might as well end yourself as well!

Shaken by his sisters statement, she then goes on to say, her every word a dagger twisting in his heart,

Or have you forgotten about your crimes, The Shadow of Death that nearly ended his own sisters life not once or twice but three times, and lets not forget the thousands youve killed when you lost control. The only difference between you and him. . . .

The Vixen stopped for a moment to taken a breath in then, she then shouted,

Is when he losses control, no one losses their lives!

He looked down at himself, glancing at his right hand which was still not but shadow clad bone, a weapon so toxic that a single drop of blood could kill thousands, however both were caught off guard when they heard someone crying, and looking back they saw another scene unfold before them, it was of the young girl, the rabbit all clad in black, and she was openly sobbing over the casket of her brother, the boy who was clearly about to have been killed by the crooked drug dealer. She wept uncontrollably as the fox looked on to the girl, then back to the boy. What happened next, was something that even the fox did not expect, there was a flash of bright white light that flew over head like a streak through the sky, and once passed the fox heard a fluttering, his eyes then locking onto a gold inlayed card that seemed to have fluttered from the heavens themselves. As the card floated down, and into the foxs right hand, it was indeed a card, a simple looking cardboard card, with the exception of the ornate gold markings that ran its length, and the fox knew what it was, and what he heard coming from that card was what really sent him to tears. It was the thoughts of the girl, who despite all the abuse, still loved her brother, the thoughts of the girl saying aloud within the confines of the foxs mind almost as if, she was speaking directly to the fox himself,

I . . . I wish I could have saved him, Id give anything to have saved him. Please . . . Let me save him.

Showing the card to his own sister brought her to ask him a question,

What is this card?

He smiled and said as he began to undo the buttons of his cloak instantly a colossal pair of elegant wings seemingly made of pure light sprouted from his back as he did,

It means that this druggy over here is very lucky to have a little sister like her.

Nodding the second fox then vanished as the fox stated, holding the card in-between his two hands his voice seeming to echo for miles,

Divine Intervention. . . . .

The fox stops for a moment, as the energy from the card erupted from it and shone like a star in the sky, then after placing his hand on the girls shoulder for a moment and then more light joining it from within her small body, he said whispering in her ear then pulling the now extremely bright star away from her,

The Second Chance.

Then turning around to face the teen in question, he lifted a golden hand with the star now hovering over the upside of his palm, and pressed it against the rabbits head the light then instantly blackening like pure taint and been poured into its center. Coloring returning to him as the fox shoved the rabbit on his ass, the teen in question then asking as he looked up to the fox with the golden wings who stood before him almost like a titan,

What the . . . The hell is going on? Am I dead?

The fox shook his head no then said as his face was hidden behind the shadows cast by his hood and the bright light of his wings,

No, however you damn well deserve to die.

Offering his hand to the boy, he hesitates for a moment and then takes his hand, the fox pulling him to his feet. After a moment, The fox handed the rabbit the same gold card and once more his sisters desperate wish was once again said, as the boy was forced to look upon not only his sister, but his parents as well, even his some times cold and distant father, all of whom were weeping over his casket. Tears filled his eyes as he heard the pain in his sisters voice as her one wish, her only wish was to be allowed to save him. The Fox said, looking upon the sight the boy was forced to take in,

They love you, more so then you deserve, and that child, that girl, that precious little gift you were given loves you more so then the rest, so much that so, that she put her entire being into that wish.

Turning to the boy he then said looking him straight in the eye,

Your kid sister just gave up her second chance, to save the miserable wretch before me, should she even be in danger of death past this moment, she wont get a second chance now it has been spent and she will die.

Once more holding up his right hand with intent to pierce the boys flesh he then says,

However, Im not just handing you a free pass back to the world of the living, before I give it to you, you will experience every single thing you did to that child, though her eyes. You WILL know terror, and you damn well will experience pain.

The fox then quickly jabbed his hands into the rabbits chest piercing his very heart, there was no blood however, but the boy was still in pain. He wretched and cried, horror filled his face as he saw through his sisters eyes, at just what kind of monster he was, every time he hit her, every time he hurt her, and every time he made her wish she would die so it would end, finally it became more then he could take, and crying out aloud the boy shouted,

Stop, please stop! I dont want to see this anymore, Im begging you make it stop!

It was over, in the blink of an eye, in the beat of a heart and the rabbit fell on all fours, weeping aloud at what he had done to her, the fragile little existence that he nearly destroyed. He wept slamming his fist into the ground, as the fox looked on, watching him as a few tears welled up in his own eyes, knowing that pain the boy now felt, the pain of knowing that he had hurt his sister in such a way, that he should never be forgiven. As he slowly started to clam down, he looked up as the fox set his hand on the boy shoulder, then said as the tears still flooded from his eyes,

I know I dont deserve it, but please, let me make it up to her, I know I dont deserve it but please let me become the big brother she deserves, Im begging you, Ill give it all up, Ill never touch the stuff again . . .

Resting his head back on the ground, his went on to say,

She deserves better then me, but please . . . Let me be the brother she deserves.

He heard a the foxs voice say aloud,

Very well, Ill hold you to that promises, and know that should you brake it, she will be the one forced to pay for your crime this time.

The boy nods then hears a clap then he felt what was almost a shockwave of energy wash over him, and then he found himself back in that moment of time, the dealer had just pulled his gun and fired the first round, however as he pointed the gun at him, he saw the fox throw himself before the bullet preventing the boys death, and though the dealer acted as though the gun simply jammed then ran off, he knew what really happened, he saw the blood flow from the foxs wound and down his chest he saw the pain in his face and he heard the agony in his voice as he spoke,

It is done, you must never tell anyone what was done here, tell no one of my existence, and you may not tell anyone of what youve seen.

The rabbit nods then asks as he looks at the foxs wound,

Why did you take the bullet, why not just push me out of the way?

The fox said with a grin on his face as his own sister rejoined them, then wrapping his arms around her,

Its a big brothers job to play the hero, isnt it?

The rabbit nods a little then watches as the fox lifts his right hand, then with a flash of light and a cloud of mist vanishes before his very eyes only the sound of a snap left behind. The boy was then left to look over the field of what had been altered to happen, knowing that he owed his life to her, he was then dead set on fulfilling,

The Wish of His Sister.

~End~

~Epilogue~

Watching a car drive through the dead of the night, inside sat the two rabbits, the older brother and his little sister, and watching them from a far, was the fox, with a smile on his face. Looking over as a familiar voice found his ears, asking,

What are you doing here? I thought you where done watching over these two?

The fox smiles and says looking on as the older rabbit sets out a blanket then sets his sister on it,

Im here to watch the meteor shower of course.

The young vixen then said looking up to him as he looked on to the two rabbits,

Wait there isnt suppose to be any meteor shower tonight.

The fox then smiles once more, and then snaps his fingers, a few streaks of light then shooting though the sky, the fox in question then saying acting as innocently as he could,

Oops, did I do that?

His little sister then giggles, then cheers as her brother picks her up and puts her on his shoulders as she goes about watching the meteors, he was watching the young rabbit girl looking on with wonder and awe as the spectacle took place over head, he then heard as the young girl made a wish upon those very stars,

I wish, I could be with my brother always and forever.

The fox nods then looks up to admire his Mistake with his own sister, knowing all to well, that the young rabbit, was now in very good hands, saying to his sister as he did,

And as for your pervious question, I watch over all mortals, as long as they exist I will protect them and watch over them all.

She smiles then looks up into the sky with her brother watching the shooting stars fly by.
